
San Francisco Travel Announces New Sales and Marketing Leadership Appointments
Moscone Center strengthens culinary program with new culinary director
February 6, 2025 (San Francisco) – The San Francisco Travel Association, the official destination marketing organization for the City and County of San Francisco, announced recent appointments, strengthening its marketing and sales teams. San Francisco’s Moscone Center also welcomed a new culinary director, enhancing the convention center’s culinary offerings for meeting and event attendees.
John Flanagan has been appointed Vice President of Convention Sales. In his role, John will lead San Francisco’s citywide sales team and will be responsible for driving convention bookings at the Moscone Center. A fourth-generation San Franciscan, John brings over 25 years of industry experience, including leadership roles at properties like the Westin St. Francis and Hiltons of San Francisco, where he spent 15 years as Director of Sales.
Kyle King has been appointed Senior Director, Global Marketing. He will lead the organization’s Marketing Communications department and drive the development and implementation of marketing programs and services for meetings and conventions, leisure travel, travel trade, and global partnerships. Prior to joining San Francisco Travel, Kyle held key marketing roles at MGM Resorts International and R&R Partners in Las Vegas, where he focused on driving visitation for group and leisure travelers at both MGM resorts and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
Chef David Teig has been named Director of Culinary for Moscone Center, San Francisco’s premier meeting and exhibition facility. In his role, David will manage culinary activities and oversee menu planning for all events and large functions. David brings deep culinary experience to the convention center, having held roles at private restaurants including the Michelin three-star Les Maisons De Bricourt in France, as well roles in hotel food and beverage for organizations including Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, and Aimbridge Hospitality. David’s appointment was announced by SAVOR, the culinary division of ASM Global.
